The UMC’s (Haas G and Kool Kim) link with Dream Different Media along with Boo and Sarah Hartman Evans for “The UMC’s: Staten Island’s Forgotten Sons.” The full documentary is set to release in 2022.
The official trailer highlights how and when the group emerged onto the scene as the first rap group out of Staten Island. It also recaps The UCM’s as the first rap group out of Staten Island to chart No.1 on Billboard with two records and the first rap group out of Staten Island to appear and perform on Soultrain. Viewers will also feel a sense of nostalgia when a scene of Martin shows the poster-size album cover of ‘Fruits of Nature’ hanging on the wall.
Kanye West and will.i.am share the impact and influence The UMC’s had on their careers and in Hip Hop past and present…30 years later the group is still a hot discussion when it comes to music and Staten Island. Watch the trailer for “The UMC’s: Staten Island’s Forgot Sons” and stay tuned for the official documentary.
